Blind Building

Deer Blind Building Day has become a pretty special day for the Outdoorsmen over the years. It is the culmination of several weeks of preparation. For the past 40+ years, Outdoorsmen have scouted the deer sign on Rend Lake Corps of Engineer property then selected the best location for the 25 - 30 blinds, each with consideration for safety, accessibility, and herd management.

Blind Building Day is when we work as teams, spread across thousands of acres to place, prepare, and brush in the blinds. We are currently using three types of blinds; steel frame, 2x4 frame, and pop-up blinds. When all blinds are finished, we end the day with a great meal at the Dale Miller Youth Area, our Deer Camp.
